Among the tourist food fodder of the Champs-Elysee, La Maison du Danemark is a welcomed change and hopefully trend that brings modern Danish-inspired French cuisine to the masses. The space couldn't be more ambassadorial, with its monumental two-floor design penned by Copenhagen-based design studio Gamfratesi. On the lower level, more favored Flora Danica features a brighter, airier design of herringbone marble and creamy monochromatic decor. Upstairs, epicurean Copenhague is an ode to dark leathers and more-moody design that is befitting of its prix-fixe dinner service.

The Food

Danish chef Andreas Moller curates French-Nordic cuisine with downstairs ala carte menu and more refined tasting menus upstairs. When comparing both, we prefer the more casual presentations of herring, smoked meats, eggs and salads of Flora Danica to reflective yet fussy meat and seafood presentations of upstairs Copenhague that is worthy of a singular visit.

Last Word

Glam Danish eatery is bastion of style, epicurean thoughtfulness along the tourist-favored Champs-Elysee.
