Tucked cozily into the Cité de l’Architecture at the place du Trocadéro, Girafe has quickly emerged as the newest and hottest seafood brasserie in Paris. Eiffel Tower views and lavish 1930s décor are two elements that make Girafe a treat for the senses, beyond the menu itself. The interior looks like Paris of the silver screen: brass fittings, gorgeous chandeliers, velvet cushions, and elegant design at every turn by Joseph Dirand. The marbled bar dominates one end of the restaurant, stately and sophisticated. Step outside to the rooftop terrace for a look at the Eiffel Tower in all its glory and one thing is certain: this is the epitome of Paris destination dining.

The Food

The sumptuous seahouse-style menu has an intriguing variety of fresh plates, whether you're looking for a dish cooked to order or delightfully raw. Milanese-style swordfish is an occasion all its own when it arrives to a table. Lobster pasta, spicy yuzu tuna, and sesame seed sea bass are also standouts. The menu of meat dishes, shared entrees, and shared plates is also quite extensive. The bar focuses on exquisite renderings of cocktail classics, alongside a wine menu that is indulgent and ambitious: you're certain to find something wonderful here. Service and ambiance are both world class.

Last Word

Girafe defines the Paris fine dining experience: prime location, elegant 1930s design, and a lovely seafood brasserie menu that is laden with quality and charm.
