In a basement cabaret club once owned by Billy Rose in the late-1930s, developer/collector Aby Rosen hosts a nightlife pièce de résistance that’s a must-see for anyone traveling through NYC this season.

Buried beneath his Paramount Hotel and infused with a $20-million makeover, Diamond Horseshoe reinvents the traditional dinner club with avant-garde theater and highbrow performance art in a series of seasonal shows created by Randy Weiner of Sleep No More. Guests are encouraged to arrive early - and required to with some cheaper tickets that all include dinner and show, mingling as performers stare you down as if at a grand Venetian ball while whispering in your ear and sometimes taking you away by the arm.

As for the show, it’s a mix of musical art and pop opera with costumes by designer Thom Browne and supper curated by abstract food artist Jennifer Rubell who recreates a medieval feast as skewered piglets dangle and fried chicken is fingered from golden birdcages in one of the most unique nightlife experiences in recent memory.
