Atzaro is arranged within an orchard of orange trees in a 300-year old farmhouse operated by a Belgian wife and her Spanish husband on a hillside north of Santa Eulària. In the last seasons it's become ground zero for Ibiza's Zen-ed out fashion crowd that arrive to a Balinese meets Balearic playground of smooth white and terracotta-color stucco buildings interconnected by planted koi ponds and almost infinite 150-ft dark bottom swimming pool. Buddhist pavilions with solemn statuary are fluffed with colorful lounge arrangement for a yoga crowd that likes to worship by night and party by night with cocktail in hand and aura of DJ electronic music in the air that fuels the occasional dance party or impromptu fashion show.
Known by locals for its acclaimed restaurant, a colonial terrace dining room of curtained alcoves and red umbrellas serves a local-sustained organic menu of Spanish meets International specialties dreamed up by its owners. Guests in flowing sundresses and colorful suits converge on the space before midnight, hitting the Art and Music Lounge with its too-cool living room scene that even has its own CD label.
The Room
Rooms are a bohemian refuge of uber-bright colors and too-shiny tile floors made up for by exquisite hand carved doors leading to marble bathroom and canopy beds with linen sheets and swags of drapery prone to 4am crashing following the summertime closing parties in early September where yet another generation swears, “One day I’ll own a hotel on Ibiza.
