City Mini-Resort
This 19th century structure, once known as Murano Hotel, features a stark-white façade with stainless steel and frosted windows guarded by two very-serious French security guards. Guests enter a sprawling white marble lobby with tall-flowing drapes, glass sculptures and elaborate 12-foot open-fireplace. The lobby features a bustling restaurant and lounge with its striped walls, playful lighting, and stainless steal tables beneath an ornate glass roof that's currently the place to be seen in Paris. In elevators lined in hot pink fur, guests make their way to the resort's full-service spa and a well-equipped fitness center offering individual entertainment centers and private coaches.
The Room
All-white guest rooms range from sparse to lavish with things like poorly constructed side-tables and chairs easily overlooked when your room happens to also have a swimming pool (albeit small). The hotel’s 43 rooms and 9 suites are meticulously decorated in all white with smooth-coated walls, oversize carpets, layered curtains and giant-fluffy pillows. A quirky lighting system seems better suited to Paris Hilton-style video making than an overnight-stay, changeable to over-10 different setting and moods (sweet rose, lilac, sky blue, solar yellow, emerald green). A fingerprint scanner, in lieu of a key, protects the hotel’s collection of modern paintings, contemporary furniture, and pop art objects.
