nightlife

Lacking the so-cool bohemian sex appeal of its more-stylish neighbor Ibiza, Mallorca nightlife continues to be ruled by the early-20s masses that emigrate every summer from their urban European homes to 2-3 week package vacations of boozy nights and scooter sightseeing days. The key to chic nightlife whilst on Mallorca is avoiding these people altogether, hitting more upscale nightclubs and even Tito's for special pricier event nights located along the port in bustling Palma.

On the outside those post-teen revelers are everywhere, the port is actually our least favorite place on Mallorca, but inside Tito's is a local institution that stems back to the late 1930's when European luminaries would hit the club for its lavish stage shows that included film and music icons. A large marquee presides over the front entrance leading to a cocktail-theme bar and main floor lounge that hosts late-night DJ dance scene and rotating theme stage spectaculars. Today these stage shows at Tito's still define the nightlife line-up in the Ziegfield-style dance theater with lavish summertime events with themes ranging fro Erotica and Playboy to 1001 Nights and Studio 54.

Tips

Nights are definitely hit and miss, so know when to bale. Because of its convenient location to the port and rampant reports by mainstream media, the club is a popular stopping ground for moored VIPs making their one-night Mallorca stops on the way to somewhere likely far chicer.

Last Word

Anyone with an aversion to Las Vegas-inspired topless revues should probably think twice about a night at Tito’s with many of the nightly performances involving some type of toplessness to the wide-eyed marvel of 19-year old boys and 50-year old husbands who break free for a stag night sans the old lady.
