A stroll away from the Ostbahnhof in Friedrichshain is a former-power station always known as Berghain but today more recognized as one of Berlin's premiere nightclubs. The space is massive, a cavernous dance hall carved of raw concrete with center stage area presided over by a DJ platform with series of bar and lounge boite surrounding on the first floor. Upstairs, is a more fashionable space reserved for VIPS on weekends with secondary DJ lineup amongst walls adorned in black-and-white fashion photography juxtaposed with an industrial warehouse vibe second to none in Europe.
Tips
The door is notoriously tough with random searches and unpredictable turn-away policy that’s more about luck than type.
