A 20-minute drive outside Marrakech to the village of Tssoultante, medina life succumbs to rural charm in the backdrop of the Atlas Mountains. An arty design compound doubles as a stylish non-profit and design hotel with hammam spa, urban gym and pool scene. It's also home to Touca restaurant, a popular weekend brunch romp arranged outdoors among a scene of bamboo pavilions and walk-up bar trimmed in mosaic tile and svelte artists in boho lounge wear. DJs and local musicians mix medleys poolside while inside a working lobby is trimmed in plaster with mosaic tile floors and walls adorned in works from the in-house artists in residence.
The Food
An all-day menu available to hotel guests, residents and visiting travellers offers a selection of local food presentations selected by workers that stem mostly from the surrounding Tassoultante village. Meals begin with a selection of traditional mezza salads arranged in attraction earthenware coupled with fresh tea or selection of wines from North Africa. Main course dabbles in grilled meats from lamb to chicken with better selection of tanjine that are shareable in size.
Last Word
Don’t miss the in-house boutique or salon that doubles as a DJ lounge by night.
