Following chef Gregory Marchand's massive success with Frenchie and its various Parisian incarnations, this stylish London bistro employs much of the charm and foodie clout as at Frenchie Wine Bar in Paris. Its cozy space along Henrietta Street could easily be in the 2nd Arrondissement, if not for the brigade of media workers and fast-paced Brits that stop in for working lunches and supper. Inside, period brick walls mix with herringbone wood floors and counter-style bar that fills to capacity once the one-room dining room is filled.
The Food
Following stints at the Savoy, Mandarin Oriental and Fifteen by Jamie Oliver, Gregory Marchand brings his culinary fortitude to a an ala carte and tasting menu you will crave again and again. Balsamic-topped burrata with peaches, foie gras with raspberries, and delicate farm-touting salads are followed by roast chicken, parppardelle with rabbit ragu and garlicky line-caught fish.
Last Word
Frenchie is also a great wine bar destination, providing you snag a spot at the bar with its lengthy wine list and seasonal cocktail menu.
