One of the restaurant hotspots of LAs downtown district, Bestia is a husband-and-wife eatery that takes multi-regional Italian cuisine and enwraps it in an innovative and hip dining concept. A warehouse space embossed with corrugated aluminum siding and bold lettered logo, the restaurant's external narrative extends to interiors that continue a rustic industrial style of exposed brick walls and iron piping. Simple wood tables or stainless steel bar offer the perfect, unobstructed backdrop for one of the greatest meals in LA.

The Food

Executive Chef Ori Menashe and his wife, who happens to be the pastry chef, unveil a lengthy menu of small and larger plate antipasti, salads, pizza, pasta and entrees with a dessert course that should not be overlooked. Antipasti include an impressed Grilled octopus with calamari, grass-fed beef heart tartare crostino and roasted bone marrow with spinach gnocchetti. The burrata pizza with San Marzano tomatoes and olives is divine as well as the homemade porcini pappardelle topped with an egg. Main course may arrive to a satiated belly with heart portions of pork chop with polenta or skirt steak with seasonal vegetables.
