Nestled within the Hotel Hermitage, 3-star Michelin chef Joel Robuchon offers his first-ever Japanese eatery within a jewel-box eatery captured behind walls of glass with East-West décor by Franco-Portuguese interior designer Didier Gomez. A single room space is lined in double banquettes with rear sushi bar home to Japanese chef Takéo Yamazaki and center tables lined in futurist club chairs filled with happy-faced sushi eaters. Outside, a Japanese-inspired garden by the landscape artist Jacques Messin completes the scene of one of our favorite sushi eatery in Monaco.
The Food
Open for lunch and dinner, the previous is by far the better option for budget-minded eaters with prix-fixe bento boxes stacked in a full meal of salad, sashimi and choice of black cod or teriyaki chicken. Ala carte dinner include full selection of sushi and sashimi as well as more western specialties like lobster ravioli, octopus salad and wagyu beef appetizer. A full teppan-yaki kitchen offers rock lobster and crispy shrimp followed by soba or udon selections.
