Tucked along a still-groovy section of Sunset Boulevard, Bowery Hotel-owner Sean MacPherson lays claim to a stylish gastro-pub located in a former English tavern. The quirky styling of the previous incarnation gets some serious upgrading as the two-room space is adorned with black-and-white images between oversize mirrors, walnut paneling and Victorian light fixtures. The front room features more of a bar vibe with long bar and cozy red booths while the rear features a more cluttered, communal vibe.
The Food
A daily lunch and dinner menu features small and large plate options beginning with potted chicken liver, Arctic char crudo and burratta with English pea bruschetta. Larger plates vary between classic fish and chips or unique vinegar chicken to less traditional braised beef short ribs or eggplant lentil curry.
