Following the swift and justified exist of Gordon Ramsey's eatery at the One&Only Cape Town, alas a restaurant redux comes in the form of one of South Arica's most-acclaimed chefs Reuben Riffel offering his lone Cape Town eatery within the famed 5-star hotel property, Arrival comes through the main hotel lobby where a view of Table Mountain leading a space surrounded in a glass cocoon containing a lower-level dining space defined by moody colors and cosmopolitan design.
The Food
Riffel rose to fame when his first restaurant, Reuben's, opened to much acclaim in the historical town of Franschhoek in 2004. His eatery at One&Only offers product driven dishes like Norwegian Salmon carpaccio, chili-salted squid and steak tartare with truffle mayonnaise. Salads topped with warm duck confit or half-dozen oysters lead to a selection of vegetarian, fish, meat and poultry main courses. Standout entrée include grilled seafood platter for two, soy-braised pork belly and gnocchi with fired oyster mushrooms.
