Secluded along a secret alleyway in the middle of Laguna's Pacific Edge Hotel, The Deck is a waterfront beach club offering all-day menu of appetizers and entrees from an open-air terrace overlooking one of the area's better surfing beach. An alleyway set back from the PCH is presided over by an eye-catching contingent of surfer dude in tight white shirts and khaki shorts who lead visitors past the hotel's own private villa and to the waterfront space. Down a long corridor of brick floor, an oceanfront space is lined in teak decking with glass wall for unobstructed views of the sea amongst high-back barstool seating and surfer theme.
The Food
Playful waterfront eatery at Laguna's Pacific Edge Hotel offers full bar and incredible ocean views from the city's only real beach club. Tastier than expected menu includes standout pita and hummus, shrimp ceviche and mahi tacos abetted by a selection of Laguna mojitos and guava-infused bellinis. The crowd varies between families with unruly children to beach bodies replenishing their margarita buzz in the hot summer afternoon sun.
Last Word
Busier holiday weekend include far more children than we had hoped, opt for less crowded summer weekends or prime days like Thursday and Friday.
