Many visitors to Southern California ask, "Why are there no beach clubs?" Paradise Cove in Malibu, however, is one of the few located on a private stretch of sand along a pristine strip of beach home to a casual beach-style restaurant and outdoor lounge that's more rustic hip than Tropezienne chic. Located next to a short pier, as well as an adjacent mobile home park, a cottage style '20s landmark building is lined in glass walls facing the sea with indoor dining room of vinyl booths and walls strewn with picture of innumerous celeb visitors. While you'd be hard pressed to find any visiting today, it's outdoor terrace and small beach club offers a sexy crowd of sun worshipers and surfer-types through the summer season.

The Food

An all-day menu includes a somewhat crazed weekend breakfast and lunch scene of LA beach commuters. Better is the lunch and dinner offering, a menu of home-style seafood specialties like Coconut Shrimp, Catch-of-the-Day that’s usually a halibut or swordfish sort, barbecue chicken and prime rib. More adventurous types should try the seafood tacos that are a So Cal specialty as well as the seafood pasta that’s big enough to share. Casual ‘20s beach house now home to one of So Cal’s only beach clubs where the food is secondary to the fact that you can actually drink on the beach.
