From a brick and mortar building directly under the 4-star Park Hotel on Singelgracht canal, Momo is set behind a series on cool black logo-emblazoned marquees. Inside, a bright and airy space is surrounded in crisp white walls with high ceiling and walls of glass framing bar lounge that wraps around the entire main dining room. The 360-degree bar features burl inlay with shiny metal detailing with white leather barstools. Surrounding the bar are a series of seating arrangements like a row of cubist sea foam green leather banquettes under a whimsical light arrangement or oversize Cappellini lounges with bold geometric patterns mimicked in the club chairs of the main dining room.
The Food
An all-day menu is divided between courses of small plate appetizers, Dim Dum, sushi and entrees that begins with a series of crispy duck on watercress, beef skewers with chimichuri and soft-shell crab with mango sauce. Modern Dim Sum standouts include foie gras gyozas or tuna tartar followed-up with a lobster salad with pomegranate vinaigrette. Sushi options include ornamental cut-rolls and sashimi platters that are more of a cliché than satiating entrée, better to stick to mains like Jurassic prawns or Wagyu rib-eye served with trio of sides.
