It's long been the most famous nightlife landmark in Malibu, located within a quirky 20s roadside that lived through much of the 90s and early 00s as a rock-and-roll club. But after a long closure and cumbersome remodel, alas the seaside hotspot that sits just across the PCH from the Malibu Pier is benefiting from new ownership once again by West LA's legendary Casa Escobar. Longtime a classic Mexican staple, the eatery offer a kitschy-cute Mexican theme inside even if on the outside it looks as though almost nothing has changed from its large concrete parking lot and glassy façade that offers glimpses of the nearby Surfrider Beach break.

The Food

What could have just been another Malibu nightspot that acts like it’s a restaurant; Casa Escobar brings its playful interpretation of California Mexican food with variations on nachos, quesadillas, guacamole and LA-style fish tacos. Heartier options will include slow-cooked meats as well as a selection of smoked specialties ranging from burger to steaks.

Last Word

Coolest nightspot in Malibu offers trendy new design by Casa Escobar with feel-good locally sourced all-day menu, whimsical cocktails selection and nightly live music directly across from the Malibu Pier.
