For anyone staying at La Residenica, it would be quite easy to just dine at in-house El Olivo known for its rising chefs and acclaimed tasting menu. But then you would miss the nearby villages and cutting edge farmhouse eateries, namely Es Raco des Teix, in Deia. Helmed by the German chef Josef Sauerchsell, a rustic farmhouse offers a lush landscape of vegetable gardens that harvest an ever-rotating menu of market-fresh ingredients. Divided between a large outdoor terrace and interior more-cozy dining room, the first is by far the most preferable with rolling hillside views for candlelit summertime dining under the stars.
The Food
Under a chef who previously worked at Le Manor Aux Quatre Saison in Oxford and nearby La Residenica, a 1-Star Michelin menu changes every two weeks with additional vegetarian option for dishes like sea bass in a creamy seafood risotto, locally sourced spring chicken with foie gras and truffles and homemade desserts of almond parfait with pineapple carpaccio. Dessert is a selection of homemade Spanish tortes and ice cream-based dishes that compliment the often warm and sultry nights of Mallorca summer.
