Far more modern than the Rio original, Antiquarius Sao Paulo edition lures more bankers and CEO’s than fashion elite to a grand dining hall with outdoor patio in the swank Jardim. A block away from the hip shops of Oscar Freire, the restaurant much more of a popular a stomping ground for heavy traditional lunches than late-night dinners by its local high-rise neighbors.
The Food
A Portuguese menu begins with specialties like garlic escargot, raw bar of shellfish appetizers and homemade pate. Seafood soups like cataplana or gazpacho are on the heavy side with ample cream, as salads offer a lighter alternative topped with shrimp or cheese. Main course is a mix of seafood specialties like white fish bacalhau and grilled meats with pasta course of fettuccine alfredo and seafood spaghetti usually reserved as an appetizer supplement.
