For perennial Aspenites that know the ins and outs of local nightlife, Escobar occupies the space once home to Fly Lounge that’s been revamped in style if not architecture. A space that once evoked an airline fuselage has morphed into a discotheque tribute to Pablo Escobar complete with black and white graffiti portraits, glittery disco balls and VIP table alit in amber lighting. The compact space works better than it did in its last incarnation, lacking the cocktail pretense of many local bars but also the granola grunge culture found at spots like Belly-Up. The small space means things can get packed on weekends when DJs mash a mix of electronic lounge anthems for one of the sexiest nightlife crowd in town.
Tips
Thursdays tend to be more local while weekend lure flashier visitors for DJ sets and promoted events.
Last Word
