It’s name means “Paradise,” one of Moscow’s hottest electronic nightclubs located in a massive factory-size dance space inspired by the various powers of heaven and hell. The space is divided between the main club venue, known as Rai, and two smaller lounges known as Heaven and Elysium. Most nights the venues are booked separately with headliner DJs like Roger Sanchez and Linda Lee Cook performing to a sold-out crowd in the larger room and private VIP parties booking into the smaller. The décor is Paris Hilton meets the Garden of Eden, an ethereal setting of mystic porn that includes one-horned creatures and statuary depicting man and myth in all his modesty. The dance floor is a lavish spectacle, a two-story space under pink-mirrored ceiling with DJ pulpit and intimate circular seating areas cramped with those suffering from electronic dance fatigue.
