Once upon a time it was just a grungy nightclub district with gay bars and occasional rave, Shoreditch is now a certified hotspot on the London scene with outpost of famed Soho House and Beach Blanket Babylon. More welcoming than its membership club competition, Beach Blanket Babylon is located within a historic warehouse space on Bethnal Green Road. Spread across four elaborately designed floors, guests roam about the extravagantly decorated common areas that include a massive 150-seat restaurant, art gallery, rooftop terrace and outdoor cinema. Psychedelic design spaces are mixed with more traditional country French furnishings to create a groovy vibe comfortable for a cross-section of visitors that arrive any given night. While not nearly as posh as the Notting Hills address, Shoreditch manages a more comfortable atmosphere and dressy alternative to much to of the area's grungier haunts. The crowd includes dressed-up city boys during the week to media girls looking to let loose on a Friday night.
