Ravesi's is a catchy design hotel located in a turn-of-the-century building along a busy street corner of central Bondi. The wto-story hotel features a bubbly lobby lounge exposed on one side to passersby and shirtless surfers en route to the waves. The lounge has been the favored haunt of an upscale après-beach scene ever-present with flirty locals and sexy 30-something singles. But recently a line was drawn in the social sand as Drift debuted in a new terrace space located on the hotel's second floor " and not everybody's invited. Decorated in dark carpeting with mirrored walls and archways leading to a glass-lined balcony, the space is more exclusive than the beer-minded space of old located on the first floor lounge. That's probably why there are two separate doorman checking faces and names before letting just anyone through the door. Sundays are currently the hottest night of the week, filling the terrace and interior lounge to capacity with surfers sporting well-coiffed hair and women in slinky white dresses.
Tips
Make sure to arrive by 5pm, otherwise you’ll be stuck with everyone who didn’t make the cut in the first floor lounge. Hotel guests will want to stick it out and try avoid returning to their rooms before 2am in order to avoid the intense noise.
Last Word
Bondi’s hottest beach bar offers contemporary cuisine and world class socializing in an upscale playground on Sydney's most famous beach.
