What’s hot for New Year’s Eve in Vegas

November 19, 2013 08.54 AM

As the New Year’s Eve 2014 line-up in Las Vegas emerges, the trend towards house music seems solidified at the city’s top nightclubs. Our favorite party of the night comes as Calvin Harris headlines the midnight show at Hakkasan. Kaskade rules the roost at XS as he continues his residency at the Wynn through winter along with Diplo at Surrender. At Mandalay, you’ll find Maroon 5 in concert and Swedish House Mafia’s Sebastian Ingrosso at Light.

For more of a hip-hop scene, you’ll find Lil Jon at Tryst and J. Cole 1Oak. Keri Hilson is also back on the scene headlining the party at LAX while Miguel takes over at TAO inside the Venetian. At Bank, one of the last exclusively hip-hop theme nightclubs on the strip, the New Year’s Eve show will include T-Pain, Icona-Pop and Common.

In terms of star wattage, look for the opening of Beecher’s Madhouse at MGM Grand to attracts more stars that just the mini-versions of Miley, Kanye and Jay-Z features in its outlandish stage shows. Down the road, you’ll find Bruno Mars at Cosmopolitan, Kristen Chenoweth at The Smith Center and Imagine Dragons at Hard Rock.
