For those passing through Dallas this season, Tony Tasset’s Eye sculpture is currently on display directly across from The Joule Hotel. Part of the luxury design hotel’s permanent art collection, the 30-foot sculpture is shaped after Tasset’s own eye and offers one of the best examples of public art unveiled in any American city this year. With themes that vary between instinctual emotion and postmodern theory, Tasset's work can be found at Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles and the San Francisco Museum of Art. Next up for Tasset is the Whitney Biennial 2014, where the artist will convert a yet-to-be-disclosed public space in New York into an all-new art installation.
