America’s Best New Ski Hotels

January 01, 1970 12.00 AM

For those that like a good dose of glamour in their winter ski weekends three new American ski hotels are forging new tracks in style and design. In Snowmass, you’ll find new Wildwood that’s a budget design property with elements of Ace Hotel and Starwood’s Aloft-brand in a crunchy new ski haunt located in the village. An altogether new hotel narrative from Starwood Hotels, the property features utilitarian rooms and communal lobby with uber-hip Belgian gastro-pub.

Opening December 18th, Aspen’s renovated Hotel Jerome is in the finishing stages of a dramatic design overhaul by California’s Auberge Resorts that operates Calistoga Ranch and Cabo’s Esperanza Resort. The remodel of the 93-room property will catapult it to Little Nell status with glamorous guest rooms outfitted by Todd-Avery Lenahan who maintained the architectural integrity of the property while adding a new communal living room and Prospect restaurant.

In Park City, Washington School House is captured within a 19th Century landmark building decorated to the nines along Park Avenue. A lobby rooted in French antiques and traditional American architecture features rustic wide-plank floors and white Windsor stairwell. With just twelve guest rooms, interiors feature lofty style mixed with period antiques and services like ski concierge and full morning breakfast.
