Fashion Hotel
For fashion mavens that simply can't get enough of Rome's Via Condotti, Palazzo Fendi arrives with a 7-room boutique hotel adjacent to their retail flagship. Inside a monumental 17th Century residence once owned by the Ludovisi Boncompagni family, Palazzo Fendi feels more like a private home among its minimalist reception with walls and floors of juxtaposing white and black marble. Harder stone surfaces retreat to natural woods and woven leather textures. Sadly, there's no restaurant, bar or much of anything else but a room key to entertain guests. Luckily the location makes for perfect exploration of the nearby Spanish Steps, but most likely if you're staying here it's to shop or hide from the public without leaving the confines of the center city.
The Room
A series of Junior, Deluxe and Palazzo Suites feature spilt living and bedroom areas with period windows wrapped in a more modern design aesthetic. Glamorous window treatment, upholstery and sleeping textiles lend the richness you expect of Fendi in a lavish location on the corner of Largo Goldoni and Via di Fontanella Borghese. Bathrooms charm with black marble and contrasting travertine that lighten the space accented in elaborate toiletries by Fendi Casa. While we would still opt for charm of Portrait Suites, Palazzo Fendi offers a posh bolthole in central Rome that’s a glimpse of future hotels by the Fendi brand.
