As much of the talk in LA centers around Downtown LA, The Line revitalized a cement square of Koreatown with a fashionable hotel and enough entertainment infrastructures to never leave the building. A posh neighborhood of the 30s and 40s that's home to several iconic LA buildings, as well as just as many forgettable ones, The Line Hotel puts a mainstream spin on local Korean culture that's halfway between Hollywood and Downtown. The property includes a staggering line-up of restaurants including a proper all-day eatery by Chef Roy Choi as well as a lobby lounge, coffee shop and vegetarian café that are slatted for opening. An on-site nightclub continues the local tradition of 24-hour lounge crawls with mid-century moodiness curated by The Houston Brothers. A great retail space narrated by local entrepreneurs compliments a further infrastructure of artists commissioned for rooms and public areas. A further pool deck is curated in more of an urban garden setting with waitress service during warmer spring and summer months.
The Room
A mid-century high-rise structure offers ideal views of the LA basin and Santa Monica Mountains from entry-level King-bedded rooms with cement walls, mid-century custom décor in boho upholstery and abstract lighting that fits well into the space. Larger Studios and Suites have a more generous floor plan with wet bar, separate living room and bathrooms with freestanding tubs. An even grander Apartment Suite is ideal for private events with original artwork and groovy loft aesthetic.
