Within a redeveloped heritage landmark that was once the first-ever hospital in the city, Harbour Rocks Hotel offers a sophisticated design hotel in the heart of The Rocks neighborhood in Sydney. A 150-year old colonial exterior of with street-level eatery called Scarlett traced in period iron windows next to a red-canopied atrium leading to the entrance of the hotel. Inside, a towering rotunda of exposed brick hovers above a first floor lobby lounge arranged in comfy-slipcovered furnishings and walls of built-in bookshelves. The first floor is also home to Eric's Bar with its rafter ceiling and industrial chic vibe, large enough for around 30-guests with direct entrance to the street that attracts a daytime cafe scene and evening happy hour.

The Room

A total of 59-rooms are cast along three levels with five varying plans that start with the more affordable Heritage Room with attractive putty-painted brick walls with period sash windows around a center-bed layout and spare decor. Studio Suites are some of the more unique spaces in the hotel, carved from the original architecture with walls of arched windows framing the historic neighborhood with separate living area of sofa, lounger and suspended LCD television. Further guest amenities include 24-hour room service as well as on-site gym that's far better equipped than you'd expect of a small hotel.
