Small Hotel

Mexico's top boutique hotel collection, Habita Groups debuts a new design outpost in the Mexican capital that borrows from the successful hotel formula mastered at nearby Condesa DF and Habita. The name is a tough one for taxi's to recognize, at least for now, in a vague naming that translates literally to "The Capital District." A more city-central location than previous properties in Polanco and Condesa, Santa Fe neighborhood is home to a skyscraper mall that's Mexico's largest. Sexy urban spaces mix sometimes-severe minimalism with grand illusions like the infinity-edge pool and white marble bar designed by Parisian designer Joseph Dirand.

The sparse design aims to put the emphasis on social interaction including a lounge-friendly pool area interconnected by staggered terraces and a film projection room. There is no shortage of things to do in the hotel, especially good since nightlife requires securing a cab most nights. An in-house library, solarium and gym keep the smart and fit well entertained, deliciously flirty and open 24-hours a day. After the workout hit the 5th floor where Enrique Olvera's restaurant and bar offers sexy late-night dinners ala jaw-dropping views of the city.

The Room

Sexier and more luxurious than previous Habita properties, Distrito Capital is no large hotel. Home to a mere 17 rooms and 13 suites, the hotel operates as more of a member’s club for nightly guests looking to indulge in the hotels convenient city location and upscale amenities. Rooms are decked full of vintage furnishings by Charlotte Perriand and modernist 20th century designers like Eames and Miller. Each room comes with a living area ranging from modest to massive. Bathrooms are topped off with Acqua di Parma amenities as well as deep soaking tub or rain shower. Suites feature even larger spa-style wash areas with additional living room, kitchenette and private gym.
