With all its Paris Hilton sightings and Hollywood photo-ops, it was only a matter of time before the owners of Tausend took the crème-de-la-crème of their club crowd to set-up an even more exclusive dance boite. Known simply as ktv (pronounced Kah-Tay-Fow auf Deutsch), the owners did little to the war-era townhouse with its rustic concrete floors and residential-style rooms that still feels very much like the house it was prior to becoming a nightclub. In the main dance room, plywood and exposed brick walls conceal some amazing architectural elements like a half-buttress ceiling albeit with a dungeon-like ambiance. The crowd includes the coolest of the cool in the Berlin nightlife scene, dressed in tattered jeans and plaid fashions in lieu of the Jimmy Choos and polished look of yesteryear with old school house, disco and acid rock that's felt as much as it's heard.

Tips

Owners of Tausend do arty, low-key dance bar with live music and rotating art exhibits within former row mansion in the Mitte district.

Last Word

Guests list access is available through the club’s website with a friendly door that require small cover and straightforward line on weekends.
