It's location is well-known, just in front of the Hong'En Daoist temple in Dongcheng District offering a bohemian arts destination that mixes modern art with contemporary nightlife. The space is thoroughly eastern in design, a series of lofty open rooms with exposed rafter ceilings dotted with abstract lighting fixtures above a mix of brick or polished bamboo floors that frame austere white gallery walls. The true attraction is the mix of great house bands and rotating art exhibits that attract a cool set of Beijing locals and Taoist hipsters.
The western ear sometimes takes a while to adjust to the contemporary Chinese rock sound, be patient and don’t lose track of the bar.
