It's not the usual nightclub we would suggest hitting whilst on summer or winter holiday, but Surreal has managed to stay atop the Queenstown nightlife action for more than a decade thanks to its owner always keeping things new. Part restaurant, part bar and part late-night music venue, the space is arranged in a dark palette of natural wood accents, leather seating areas and long bar attended by chatty bartenders who always know where the evening's best parties are if they happen to be somewhere else besides Surreal. Walls are strewn with oversize art prints from local galleries as well as periodic rotating shows throughout the year. Upstairs, another bar offers a billiards tables and more nightlife vibe that continues till 2am on most nights.

For those who like their music one certain way, whether electronic or hip-hop, try to come with an open mind as the club lures a variety of house, Electronic, funk, rock, jazz and hip-hop for touring DJs and live artists.
