In the backyard resort space of Sole East, this surf-theme lifestyle restaurant offers all day dining and bar scene that's the toast of Montauk summer. An all-white space is outfitted in canvas director's chair with butcher-block tables and quirky service with menu that spans from breakfast to 2am supper. With perks like an all-day DJ and childcare for people who like to valet their kids as well as their car, the Backyard has become a culinary destination in its own right that’s even usurped nearby Surf Lodge in popularity. An all-day menu begins with breakfast of homemade pancakes, fruit-topped French toast and elaborate egg dishes that endlessly lead to beach bloat. Lunch is an array of fresh salads, grilled meat sandwiches and more hearty entrees like roasted chicken that’s also included on the dinner menu. Evenings are ruled by land and sea with specialty steaks, baked fish and top-notch burger served till a wee-eyed 2am.
