A restaurant coup of epic portions happened when Guy Savoy chose Las Vegas over New York and San Francisco for his latest US-based restaurant. With views of the Las Vegas Strip and surrounding Caesar's Palace resort complex, a light and airy dining room features high-ceilings, abstract artwork and muted-modernist décor. Architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, who designed the original Guy Savoy in Paris as well as parts of the Louvre, designed the simple yet impeccable space that includes simple circular tables and dark woodwork rising throughout a two-story hall. An additional private dining room seats eight and is available for elite guests like Celine Dion and Elton John.

The Food

To the bemoaning of many American tourists to Vegas, Guy Savoy is one of those infamous French institutions where food presentation is as important as preparation. Hence, expect small portions adept to small European appetites yet full-bodied and better than anything you’ll eat in most American (or even European) cities. Mixing modern French cuisine with exotic Asian accents, Savoy masters exquisitely simple faire like a signature “côte de gros” turbot, white fish steamed with spinach and a poached egg atop fish bouillon, grilled filet doused in truffles, terrines of house-prepared foie gras and a signature caviar service with baked bilinis.

Last Word

Yes - it’s perhaps more affordable than the Paris original, but it also requires a 30-day advance booking or well-connected concierge to get through the door. It's also one of the few 3-star Michelin restaurants in the US.
