When it comes to fine Italian dining with a note of celebrity panache, few restaurants do it quite like Cipriani. In one of its better global installments, Cipriani Monte-Carlo finds its home nestled inside a quaff high-rise just north of the main port near the Fairmont Monte-Carlo. An elegant parlor-style dining room line in shiny walnut wood paneling offer a feel of 1920s elegance accented in antique mirrors, vintage cinema displays and chairs that are an exact model of the original Harry's Bar in Venice. A separate Club Bar offers overflow seating as well as late night antics of the rich and fabulous in Monaco.
The Food
Classic appetizers like tuna tartare, yellow tail carpaccio and signature salad compliment heartier alternatives grilled octopus, fritto misto and veal tonnato. One cannot leave without a plate of pasta, preferably the homemade purple gnocchi with spicy tomato sauce, squid ink tagliolini or green tagliatelle with Bolognese. Main course, for anyone still hungry, is a menagerie of tradition Italian dishes like Dover sole with curry, Veal chop with butter or wild sea bass with cherry tomatoes and capers.
