One of a total of three full-service eateries at the massive Grace Bay Hotel, Aracona is without doubt the best located on a under a canopy palapa with thatched roof and dramatic all-white decor framed by views of Grace Bay. The crowd includes hotel guests as well as island residents that refer to the eatery as one of the top to 'see and be seen'. Circular tables allow for a glitzy island setting complete with manicured staff that assist in creating an exclusive setting for a dinner-only menu.
The Food
A Euro-inspired menu of Caribbean classics includes a soup and salad menu of chicken "laska" dumplings with lemongrass soup, tuna tempura roll with citrus ponzu and fire-roasted potato soup. Heartier entrees like crab and corn risotto, conch cannelloni that's supposed to be a local aphrodisiac and seared Hudson Valley Foie Gras are also great entree options for anyone looking to keep it light. Main course is a rather heavy selection of 8-14oz. beef tenderloin or pork cutlets, wild Branzino in macadamia crust and Australian lamb served with bacon-wrapped scallops. Vegetarian entrees include a great pumpkin risotto and a blue cheese gnocchi that was a bit on the tart side.
Last Word
Lavish Grace Bay eatery offers culinary excellence in a dramatic upscale setting overlooking the Carribean.
