Boutique Hotel
Well known by Montauk locals as Second House Tavern, Ruschmeye's is a groovy beach boutique by former Schrager protégée Ben Pundole and Surf Lodge designer Robert McKinley. The duo have collaborated to form King & Grove Hospitality that once managed both the Surf Lodge and Ruschmeyer's. Ruschmeyer's occupies a series of outlying buildings including the A-frame and glass lobby structure with camp-chic meets "nautical summercamp" theme. Ruschmeyer's is a playful but far from luxurious beach pad that includes a pool and poolside resort deck with paddle tennis and lawn games. Ben Towill and Philip Winser helm the in-house eatery, formerly of Silkstone in Manhattan, offering a locally sourced menu of innovative creations utilizing Montauk seafood and Hamptons' produce. Additionally, the hotel operates a scene-driven bar and micro-disco in the former property's speakeasy.
