About as central a location you can get in Santa Monica, Shore Hotel is a new-build design hotel offering a glassy silhouette walking distance to the beach and local shopping districts. With sexy pool deck flanking its ocean-facing facade, a four-story design of steel and glass offers open-flow lobby with futuristic collection of edgy design furnishings amongst concrete and stone details. Chain-free in virtually every way, the hotel is free of the geometric visuals of so many other design properties. The hotel is also home to Blue Plate Taco, a delectable gourmet taco shop affiliated with nearby Blue Plate Oysterette that's one of our favorite restaurants at the beach.
The Room
Eco-minded guest rooms offer luxury details like Egyptian cotton sheets, ocean views from every room category and access to a well-equipped on-site gym. Rooms mix bold color blocks of aqua, oranges and blues with colorfully striped carpets and built-in writing desks. Larger suites open to well-appointed patios sometimes onto the main pool deck arranged in colorful lounges and 180-degree ocean view. While more spare of the lux than nearby Shutter’s but better appointed than comparable Kimpton or JDV Hotels, Shore Hotel maximizes location and Eco-style in Santa Monica.
