Boutique Hotel
A bit off the beaten path where Hotel Healdsburg makes its home, H2Hotel is a sister concept property walking distance to downtown and a bicycle ride away from several top Sonoma County wineries. The hotel makes a statement even before entering, its 4-story face with undulating living roof and reclaimed wood slating that camouflages endless more environmental details that have enabled its registration for LEED Gold status.
Inside, the lobby lined in surrounded in reclaimed rustic wood paneling with smooth concrete floors, industrial bookshelves and Ligne Roset arrangement of pouf-inspired lounge furnishings that give a boho Moroccan edge. The Marrakech references continue to in-house Spoonbar with menu by Rudy Mihal of Mediterranean tapas menu of appetizers, skewers and main plate tanginess in a glass-enclosed dining room facing the creekside pool. Throughout the hotel is local artwork from a unique partnership with nearby Swarm Gallery with works by Stephen Galloway and Katy Stone.
The Room
Full of stylish details and personal one-off design elements, the 36 rooms of H2Hotel are sparse spaces with reclaimed bamboo floors, integrated platform beds with small wall-mounted desk and small outdoor space even entry-level rooms. Junior Suites come with a bit more room and a little more furniture, armless loungers that double as an extra bed with Saarinen coffee table and white shutters that open to a two-person balcony. Bathrooms look like simple white tile wet-rooms, but on closer inspection feature Heath ceramic tiles (think Alice Waters’ favorite dishes) with Japanese soaking tubs and waterworks fixtures.
