While most visitors who come to Mexico City spend their time hunting down the museums and civic spaces home to the works of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, in-the-known art collectors instead flock to spaces like Kurimanzutto located just outside Polanco in San Miguel Chapultepec where this former timber yard is now home to a collection of spatial and mixed media modern arts. The building was originally built in 1949 and used a s a working saw mill for most of its existences, at least until the owners of this coveted art institutions decided to make it a landmark of mid-career working artists rising through the ranks of the local art circle.
