Like a posh member’s club with tearoom, lounge and formal dining room; Sevva is one of the chicest reservations you’ll make in Hong Kong. Created by the fashionable art collector Bonnae Gokson, Sevva is a destination both day and night. Situated high atop one of the city’s foremost towers, a daytime tearoom bustles with dishes like foie gras mousse, cucumber sandwiches and crab with prawn burger that’s a house staple. Its Ms. B’s Sweets is a sexy patisserie situated under a Venini chandelier that hung in the British Embassy in Rome in the 1950s. The bar features all-day tapas menu with lounge offset by a towering vertical terrace. Two formal dining rooms include a dramatic rooftop terrace, each with varying degrees of casualness and art collection that’s as impressive as the skyline views.
The Food
Whether dining on sandwiches in the tearoom, nibbling on tapas in the Lounge or feasting on a swami plate in Harbourside, the menus of Sevva impress with their seasonal flavors and local ingredients. Bankside offers more of an international business lunch scene with lounge anthems and dishes of caprese salad with tri-color tomatoes paraded around homemade burrata and sea bass on spoon-worthy asparagus cream. Afterwards, don’t miss the collection of refined desserts available in each room, most especially the Caramel Crunch Cake with honeycomb.
