It’s not often that we profile a restaurant that’s not even open for dinner, but Cellar Door Provisions is worthy in every way. That even includes the not so convenient trip to outer Logan Square where this counter-style communal eatery serves breakfast and lunch with working bakery that pulls out warm concoctions from croissant to scones and morning buns until 11am.
The Food
From 11am, the space transitions to a casual, convivial lunch scene with daily selections like buckwheat dumplings with beets and sunflower seeds, wild mushroom corzetti and gougere with cured pork belly and shaved turnip. Sadly, doors close promptly at 3pm, but somehow we think one day there will in fact be a dinner service " or at least we can hope.
