An incredible gastro-tavern located next to the Arch of Porta Catania, Osteria RossoDiVino sits in a courtyard that dates back to the 14th century. At its front, a small hostess booth usually attended by one of its owners greets patrons along a terrace of terracotta tiling with charming iron décor and tattered marquee. Inside, a one-room dining room is etched in rafter ceiling with traditional fresco artwork and in-lay wine cellar that offers some great Sicilian and Italian wines by the bottle.
The Food
Impeccably fresh seafood sourced by its two owners for dished like tuna tartare, steamed clams, fresh oysters and homemade bread drizzled in local Sicilian olive oil. Main course is a pleasurable experience of grilled of salt-basked whole fish dishes with fresh seasonal vegetable from local gardens.
