Located just outside Jose Ignacio village near Punta del Este, La Susana is a beach club restaurant within the Bahia Vik compound operated by Uruguay's most prestigious hotelier. Visitors arrive to a gated compound just off the main highway along a splice of oceanfront with series of indoor and outdoor single-story pavilions infused with chic beach charm that alas gives nearby La Huella some much-needed completion for the summer season. Open from lunch through late evening, the club manages to transition from lively brunch spot to sunset cocktails and evening dinner with additional beach lounger service available by day.
The Food
An all-day beach menu created by Chef Marcelo Betancourt infuses his own herbs and vegetables from an on-site garden offering fresh and organic Uruguayan cuisine. The result is a medley of seafood and mat dishes prepared on the outdoor parilla with incredible renditions of calamari, octopus, white fish and local meats in a setting overlooking the faro of Jose Ignacio.
