  • The Scene:

Palm Springs old and new congregate at racquet club-adjacent steak house that attracts Hollywood weekenders and golf cart-driving locals. A sleek stone façade features a circular valet area congested with over-age drivers and impatient onlookers. Recently remodeled by LA designer Dodd Mitchell, the groovy dining features open fireplace with lava rock adornment as well as a decadent outdoor terrace for late night dining.

  • The Food:

An all-day dining room offers a country club style menu for daily society lunches and family-style weekend bunch. Dinner is a more upscale affair with a surf and turf menu of shrimp cocktail and calamari appetizers as well as a decent tuna tartare and salad selection. Entrees include well-portioned pasta dishes and delicate fish presentations like Chilean Sea Bass, salmon medallions and swordfish skewers. Heartier eaters cut into sizzling steak and lobster combinations as well as a center-cut pork chop and seared lamb chops.

  • Last Word

If the weather permits, always opt for the outdoor dining room verses the stuffy dining room.
