  • The Scene:

Located in the rear lobby of the Kelly Wearstler-designed Viceroy Palm Springs, this one-room bistro and drinking bar offers a hip and groovy dining destination within walking distance of central Palm Springs. The canary-yellow and white design is decorated with mirrored walls, tufted-white banquet and cozy glass tabletops surrounded by black-and-white photography of '50s Hollywood. On busier nights, a covered terrace and poolside patio offers an overflow dining and lounge crowd that roars well past midnight.

  • The Food:

Guests of the bar nosh on appetizer selections ranging from Mediterranean hummus plates to more decadent prawn and claw platters. The restaurant features a popular, yet pricey, all-day breakfast menu as well as a more reasonably priced lunch of salads and sandwiches. Dinner is an elevated hotel menu of steaks, pastas and seafood specialties with standout hits like the lobster-vanilla bisque and saffron paella.

Better than your average hotel restaurant, this cozy dining room and evolved all-day menu is a local hotspot.
