There's little disputing that Gurney's was once just a hotel eye soar along one of Montauk's best beach, now the hotel has undergone a renovation that includes all-new eateries, stylish rooms and a hotel bar worth the walk. An eclectic space mixes elements of the past when local fisherman would use it as an afternoon hideaway, now infused with rustic plank walls and moody lighting strung by twisted ropes and industrial fixtures. Outside, a covered deck beckons on warm afternoons and late weekend nights when DJ mixes fill the air. Behind the bar, star mixologist Julio Cabrera concocts alcoholic potions and elixirs for an influx of summer residents and hip weekend guests.
