It’s been the bar darling of Beirut for more than a few seasons, flush with expats and well-known locals that flaunt their designer denim and T-shirts to this hipster enclave of pricey beer and posh architecture. Even for the hard to impress, the interiors live up to the hype with an intimate, industrial feel of a back alley Parisian parlor clad in red velvet drapes and knotty wide wood panels that the floor. Exposed walls feature original period detailing with oversize ventilation fan that adds a Marxist flair. Moody lighting illuminates one of the better bar crowds you’ll find midweek, queuing-up at the rustic back bar with wagon wheels lit in theater lighting that hang from above.
Tips
The bar closes for the summer season, like many in Beirut, and reopens in the fall as weather cools and the beaches become less popular.
