The Place:
la Playa (CLOSED)
The Scene:
The beauty of Hampton nightlife is that clubs come and go but their locations essentially stay the same. Located in the former-Stereo and Tavern space along Tuckahoe Road, the beachy incarnation of NY's la Playa delivers a remodeled dance club and VIP lounge catering to Hampton's upper-crust party set. The new space goes more upscale than before as owner David Sarner of Pink Elephant creates a VIP den for beach blue bloods and party glitterati.
The remodeled la Playa features a central dance floor with long bar accentuated by illuminated shelves of premium alcohol. For those unwilling to fight the lines at the bar, several VIP booths that double as cliquey mini-social clubs free-flowing in Grey Goose and Moet surround the main room. The dance floor features a fabric-strew ceiling with disco ball and A-List deejays like Benji Madden and Adam Goldstein spinning from Memorial Day to Labor Day. A separate VIP area is washed in a creamy color-palette with its own jam-packed dance floor individually serviced by one of the Hamptons' hottest bar staff.
JetSet Tips:
VIP’s willing to make the Hampton pilgrimage are offered helicopter services from Manhattan with club arrival ala private Bentley.
Last Word:
The hottest club opening of 2008 brings NYC’s hippest party promoters back to the Hampton shores.
